|This description is from the north end where you connect with County Rd 2 at Antelope Creek. The road heads south allong the creek toward private ranch property. You will pass signs that tell you when you are crossing private property. Please respect the land owners wishes.
The road will head up into some low hills away from the ranch fields. It will cross a shallow gulch and then go past the entrance road to the ranch property. From here the road will head up along a shallow creek that passes through "The Gunsight" Peak. It will continue to climb passing an intersection to the right. This is where the other access to Gunsight Pass ties in.
Continue up along the main road. Shortly you will top out on Gunsight Pass at a large four way intersection. Behind you is "The Gunsight" Peak. The road to the left dead ends at private property after a short distance, the road straight ahead is blocked by private property also. The road to the right is the continuation of the Gunsight Pass road back down to pavement.
Following the road to the right you will cross the top of the ridge and then drop down along the side crossing a few drainage cuts. At the top of a hill you will turn left and drop down along a fin to a graded road the runs along hay fields. After making a sweeping curve you will come to an intersection. The left will continue on County Rd 2. The right is County Rd 23. Both head back to Kremmling.
